Pete Buttigieg
Pete Buttigieg, of Joe Biden’s most incompetent Cabinet members (and that’s saying a lot), is reportedly weighing a run for Michigan governor in 2026, according to Detroit News.
The Indiana native was rewarded a position as Biden’s Transportation Secretary after he dropped out of the 2020 primary race to make room for old Joe.
Buttigieg previously served as a mayor for South Bend, a small Indiana town.
Pete Buttigieg told the Associated Press that he moved to Michigan to be closer to his partner’s family.
“I grew up a few miles from the state line, so even growing up I was getting the news from Michigan and from both sides of the state line. And I could point to any number of moments over the years, some wonderful and some really tough, like when our little guy was in the intensive care in Grand Rapids.”
“But, yeah, bottom line, this is home,” Buttigieg said.
Earlier this month it was reported Detroit’s Democrat Mayor Mike Duggan, will run for Michigan governor as an Independent to succeed Gretchen Whitmer when her term expires in 2026.
Duggan’s decision to run as an Independent comes after Trump carried Michigan and the down ballot in the 2024 election.
Other high-profile Democrats such as Michigan’s Attorney General Dana Nessel, Lt. Governor Garlin Gilchrist and Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson may also run for governor.
According to Detroit News, Pete Buttigieg is mulling a run for Michigan governor in 2026 and possibly the White House in 2028.
“Pete Buttigieg has been meeting with prominent Michigan Dems, as he weighs his political future,” Detroit News reported.
“Multiple sources said they believe he’s considering running for Michigan governor in 2026 or president in 2028,” the outlet reported.

Pete Buttigieg is best known for tackling one of the biggest problems in the country: racist roads
Buttigieg told Al Sharpton that traffic fatalities happen because of racism and discrimination.
“We’ve got a crisis when it comes to roadway fatalities in America,” Buttigieg said earlier this year. “We lose about 40,000 people every year. It’s a level that is comparable to gun violence – and we see a lot of racial disparities. Black and brown Americans and tribal citizens and rural residents are much more likely to lose their lives…”
Buttigieg continued, “There are a lot of reason related to discrimination….even related to the way the roads are designed and who has access to a safe street design that’s got crosswalks and good lighting.”
Only in politics can a moron like Pete Buttigieg fail upward.
