Farage still in good terms with Musk, he says.
Displaying a rare sense of purpose that overrides pride, Reform UK’s head and MP Nigel Farage seems to have moved beyond his recent public feud with tech billionaire and free-speech ‘hero’ (Farage’s words) Elon Musk.
The Telegraph reported:
“Elon Musk was ‘just trying to encourage me’ by tweeting that he ‘doesn’t have what it takes’, the Reform UK leader insisted.
The billionaire adviser to Donald Trump called for Mr. Farage to be replaced at the head of Reform in January during a dispute over Mr. Musk’s support for jailed far-Right activist Tommy Robinson.”
The spat occurred at a point when relations between the Musk and Farage seemed promising, including speculation that the X owner could channel ‘a sizable’ donation to Reform.
After that, Musk also posted in support of Rupert Lowe, suggesting that the expelled MP could return and take over Reform instead of Farage.
“However, appearing on the BBC’s Sunday With Laura Kuenssberg, Mr. Farage said he had since met Mr. Musk and discussed the tweet. ‘We talked about it’, he said, adding: ‘He was just trying to encourage me in a few policy areas, ones I wasn’t prepared to go down’.”
Reform UK’s Farage is NOT a Tommy Robinson’s fan.
Farage believes Robinson is a ‘thug’, and barred him from joining his political parties.
“Despite the split with Mr. Musk, Mr. Farage has continued the praise the billionaire, insisting they are still ‘on good terms’ and describing him as a ‘hero’ at a conference in the US in February.”
In March, Farage refused to change his stance on Robinson.
“’He took a different view on Tommy Robinson to me. I’ve never been pro him anyway. I don’t know, he tried to push me a bit on it’, Mr. Farage said. ‘Do you know what? You can’t bully me. I’ve got the principles. I stand by them. Good or bad’.”
