A Kansas Catholic church named for St. Patrick was vandalized as the weekend leading to St. Patrick’s Day began.
A suspect was arrested Sunday after the damage to St. Patrick’s Church in Wichita was discovered at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Wichita police representative Aaron Moses said, according to the Wichita Eagle.
Police found “extensive vandalism, including hate speech, damage to statues, candles and glass. Notably, a United States flag was also burned,” Moses said.
Police declined to provide details of what the hate speech said.
The Wichita Fire Department, FBI, and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives were investigating, police said.

“After forcing their way inside, statues were destroyed, glass smashed, and other extensive damage exacted upon this sacred space,” the Kansas Catholic Conference posted on Facebook.
“A Satanic website was scrawled on a wall. This is the face of evil,” the post said.
“It’s disgusting,” Wichita Police Chief Joe Sullivan said, according to KSN-TV.
“It doesn’t matter what denomination. People should feel safe there, and they should feel that it’s a place that would be respected,” he said.
According to the Wichita Eagle, a suspect in the vandalism was arrested at 2:20 a.m. Sunday.
The Salina Post identified the suspect as Michael Angel Gonzalez, 23, of Saline County.
Gonzalez has been locked up in the Sedgwick County Jail on a bond of more than $500,000 and faces charges of burglary, criminal desecration, and criminal damage to property in connection with the damage to the church.

Gonzalez also faces charges of contempt of court and violating his parole, according to KAKE-TV.
The Kansas Department of Corrections said Gonzalez was on parole for convictions of criminal threat, criminal damage to property, and burglary.
“This reprehensible act of vandalism will not be tolerated,” Sullivan said.

After the continuing resolution passed, Jennings praised Chuck Schumer for stopping the ‘racist, Jim Crow era’ filibuster, a direct dig at Democrats who used this type of language when they were last in power and were threatened with a filibuster.
Jennings gets about halfway through his comment before Jake Tapper jumps in to explain to the audience the context of what he is saying. Jennings probably should have asked Tapper why CNN viewers would need to have that explained to them.

Conservative Republican Rep. Harriet Hageman of Wyoming recently appeared on Winston Marshall’s podcast and talked about the waste, fraud and abuse that’s being uncovered by DOGE.
Using the Education Department as one example, Hageman pointed out that while the department gets billions in tax dollars, very little of that money actually goes towards educating students. Where does the rest of it go?
Hageman suggests that it goes to consultants and then gets funneled back to politicians. She comes right out and calls this a form of money-laundering.

REP. HARRIET HAGEMAN: Well, let’s look at the Department of Education. The Federal Department of Education spends — has a budget of about $280 billion a year. Less than 25% goes to educating our students.
So where does the other $220 billion go? It goes to a bureaucracy. It goes to a consultant, and that consultant then donates money back to the Democrats. And then it goes to a different consultant, and then it goes to an NGO, and then it goes to—I mean, it is money laundering and money churning at its absolute best. And you can look at almost every single agency, and you will find it.
So, the brilliance of DOGE isn’t that he’s going in and cutting spending—he doesn’t have the authority to do that. We’re the ones that have the authority to do that. Over the weekend, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem used her Twitter/X account to announce the construction of seven new miles of border wall in Arizona.

Trump’s predecessor, former President Joe Biden, moved on his first day in office to halt all border wall construction along the U.S.-Mexico border. In late 2023, construction on roughly 20 miles of border barriers in South Texas was allowed to commence under Biden, since the money had already been appropriated by Congress during Trump’s first administration.
Americans should never forget that stopping construction of the border wall was one of Biden’s first acts on his first day. That should have been a warning about what was coming for the next four years.

Spring breakers in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, held illegal boxing matches over the weekend – with cryptocurrency bets.
A bystander who recorded the beach boxing matches told NBC Miami that he saw students running toward a circle of people on the beach and overheard bystanders taking bets with crypto.
“Why aren’t they playing football? Something that is not going to get people injured,” Joshua Pettus told NBC Miami.
“I started hearing somebody taking bets and they were doing it with crypto,” Pettus said.
Pettus said he began recording after he saw spring breakers put on boxing gloves.
“Boxing gloves came out, the ring got bigger, and I knew the fight was going to start,” Pettus said.
Men and women participated in the boxing matches. Girls in bikinis put on boxing gloves and threw punches at each other as the crowd cheered them on.
Fort Lauderdale Police broke up the fights.
“Fort Lauderdale Police witnessed and broke up two incidents on the beach and the crowd complied both times without further issues. There have been no reported confirmed cases of betting. This type of behavior will not be tolerated,” the city of Fort Lauderdale said in a statement.

Former Rep. Adam Kinzinger is urging President Trump to prosecute him after declaring Joe Biden’s pre-emptive pardon null and void.
Posting on TRUTH Social on Sunday Trump declared that former Joe Biden’s pre-emptive pardons, issued during the final days of his administration, are “void, vacant and of no further force or effect.”
Trump argued that the pardons are invalid because Biden used an autopen to sign them, claiming the former president had no direct knowledge or involvement in granting these pardons.
Among those who received pre-emptive pardons from Biden were former Reps. Adam Kinzinger and Liz Cheney and other members of the Select Committee investigating the January 6 Capitol protests.
In a video uploaded to the X platform, Kinzinger challenged Trump to go after him:
So I just saw that Trump is, like, threatening the January 6 committee again. Listen. This dude knows. He knows that this is, like, the thing that embarrasses him. He won’t admit it embarrasses him, because he’s trying to, like, pretend like he didn’t do anything.”

The former lawmaker, who along with Liz Cheney spearheaded the harassment and persecution of January 6th protesters, said in January that he had no desire for a pardon from Biden before they were issued, arguing that people look guilty “the second you take a pardon.”

Representative Brandon Gill (R-TX) announced plans to file articles of impeachment against U.S. District Judge James Boasberg.
This action comes in response to Judge Boasberg’s recent decision to temporarily block President Donald Trump’s invocation of the Alien Enemies Act of 1798, aimed at expediting the deportation of members of the Venezuelan gang, Tren de Aragua.
U.S. District Judge James Boasberg, an Obama-appointed radical judge, has single-handedly derailed President Trump’s efforts to remove violent Venezuelan gang members from American soil.
On Saturday, President Trump invoked the Alien Enemies Act, a seldom-used wartime law, to address the pressing threat posed by Tren de Aragua, a violent Venezuelan gang designated as a Foreign Terrorist Organization.
The administration’s objective was to swiftly deport gang members infiltrating the United States without adhering to the prolonged procedures typically associated with criminal and immigration proceedings. This decisive action was intended to protect American communities from the gang’s criminal activities.
However, Judge Boasberg issued a 14-day temporary restraining order, effectively halting the administration’s efforts and mandating that any deportation flights already in progress return to the United States.
Enter Rep. Brandon Gill (R-Texas), a patriot who’s had enough of activist judges undermining our sovereignty, announced he’s taking action.

A radical judge who ordered the Trump Administration to turn around planes deporting Venezuelan gang members argued with DOJ lawyers about his “equitable powers” on Monday during a dramatic hearing.
As previously reported, on Saturday morning, Judge James Boasberg, an Obama-appointee, granted a temporary restraining order (TRO) to stop the Trump administration from deporting thousands of Venezuelan nationals under the Alien Enemies Act.
Far-left America-hating leftist groups such as the ACLU and Democracy Forward, rushed to a DC court in a desperate bid to shield dangerous illegal aliens from deportation.
Later Saturday, Judge Boasberg issued an emergency injunction (it wasn’t filed yet) and ordered the Trump Administration to turn around planes that were deporting dangerous Tren de Aragua Venezuelan gang members.
“Any plane containing these folks that is going to take off or is in the air needs to be returned to the United States however that is accomplished,” Boasberg said in an oral order, according to Politico. “Make sure it’s complied with immediately.”
There were reportedly two flights en route to Central America.
On Sunday morning, El Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele mocked Judge Boasberg after two flights from the US carrying approximately 300 Venezuelan aliens and other gang members landed in El Salvador.
Later Sunday, the Trump DOJ provided an update to Boasberg’s order and said the criminal aliens were outside of US territory when the order came down.
The DOJ argued that the judge has zero jurisdiction over international airspace.

The DOJ hit back against a demand for a sworn declaration and said it is not necessary because the government complied with the order.
The planes had already departed so the aliens were technically already removed from US territory.
